Details, details, details, I love all the wonderful details that make every wedding so unique and special. Jess & Kevin’s wedding was held earlier this year at Mitchelton Winery in Nagambie. I think it must be the largest winery I have ever been to. But given it’s size, the venue still felt very cosy and intimate. Here’s just a glimpse of their special day….

Already a very busy start to the year.

I’m finally back in the office, after enjoying the school holidays, surfing, swimming, skating (kids – not me!). Also have a gorgeous wedding to blog as well as some family portraits.

A big thank you to the many brides waiting patiently for orders to be filled, albums to be made and meetings to be booked. Thank you for your patience. I will be contacting all brides this week in regards to appointments and enquiries for 2012 and 2013, yep already have bookings for 2013, it’s going to be a busy one……….

November Rain – Emily & Steve

This is the magnificent view that greeted Emily & Steve’s wedding guests as we arrived at De Bortoli Winery and Restaurant in the Yarra Valley.And as the rain fell, we ran for cover! But still Emily and Steve didn’t really care. They laughed & smiled and giggled, and just enjoyed getting married! And eventually falling into each others arms and dancing the night away. Even with the rain, it was still the perfect day….

This is the beautiful Em. After a full on year of exams and pressure, it was time to dress up, celebrate a huge year and party with friends. I’ve known Em since she was 5 years old, she has virtually grown up in front of my own eyes. Through primary school years, selling me chocolates & sponsoring walk-a-thons, to watching her now drive past my house with the L’s on the car, boy, those years really went fast! She’s a beautiful young women with so many exciting things in her future. It’s a pleasure to know her and her loving family. Enjoy yourself Em, you have worked so hard this year, time for some fun!

Abbie and Brendan – Sweet Light, Raindrops & Rainbows!

Abbie and Brendan celebrated their wedding day at home on their property at Whittlesea, Victoria. With the weather being the major topic of conversation, Abbie and I were sending “sunny” thoughts to Brendan who had to make the final decision on whether the ceremony would go ahead as planned out in the open under the gum trees overlooking the dam, the valley and the hills that surround their magnificent property. Brendan, to say the least, was a little stressed. He knew us “girls” me included, had our hearts set on the outdoor ceremony, rather then plan B – inside the marquee. About 30 minutes before the ceremony, the sun shot through the clouds, the rain coats packed away, Abbie was going to have the ceremony that she had planned…..it truly was perfect.

Not long after the ceremony the rain arrived, and rain it did! But my “sunny” couple didn’t let a little rain dampen their celebrations! Some fun shots taken inside the marquee….

The heavy rain continued on for about an hour, and then something so amazing happened, something that I have never, ever, experienced in my 10 years of photographing weddings - THE LIGHT! The most glorious light you have ever seen. I’m sure Abbie & Brendan both thought I was nuts! as i danced my little happy dance, and then this……………..

Yes, we had a rainbow!

Thank you so much Abbie and Brendan for allowing me to capture your wedding day. It really did feel like I was a guest at one of my friends wedding, that’s how your lovely friends and family made me feel. Congratulations to you both, I know your life together will truly be ‘happily ever after’………all my love, Kelly xox

Lots of colour, song, celebrating and of course love! One of my all time favourite gardens to visit is Fitzroy Gardens, we are so lucky in Melbourne, we have so many beautiful gardens and park space, but this is my all time favourite space to wander around and soak up Melbourne. Julie & Eion were married at the Macedonian Orthodox Church in Seddon before traveling into the city for more photos.
